Parents
This website is being used by schools to support history teaching about World War Two and its impact on two British cities – Swansea and Hartlepool. It contains an amazing collection of photographs and memories stored by both cities and, until now, not easily accessible by schools.
Your children will look at the site during project work set by their teachers and may ask you, or your elderly relatives, for other recollections of that time. Many schools will be using the site as a trigger to a local history project exploring the impact of WW2 on your area, your family and your lives.
We hope that your children’s experience of the site is a fun one, you may care to browse through yourself and see if any of the images shown in the site bring back your own memories of either the war, or its aftermath.
