An excellent site featuring one specific part of World War 2.  Set in North Shields, the site explores air raids and their victims, heroes and people’s memories.  Very well recommended by teachers, lots of photos and information but no downloadable resources.

There are photographs and video extracts of people sharing their experiences.  Archive with interviews from veterans and civilians on what daily life was really like.  Interactive activities include caption match (matching the caption to the photographs).  No downloadable resources but good student use of ICT.
