'Time' sketch from POW book
Ben Dixon was a wireless operator/air gunner in the RAF in World War Two. He was on a bombing raid over France when his plane was shot down and he was taken prisoner by the German army. He spent most of the rest of the war in the Stalag Luft 1 prisoner-of-war camp. To pass the time, Ben asked the other prisoners to write messages and draw pictures in his scrapbook. In this picture, someone has drawn an escape attempt.
In fact, Ben did not escape from the camp, and remained there for four years, until the end of the war when he was liberated by the Americans.
